John Kennon received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State and an MBA from. After serving as a Lieutenant in the US Army with a tour in Vietnam, he entered the insurance business in 1971. An independent broker since 1974, he has always specialized in serving small employers and the self-employed.In his off hours, he is a runner, biker, vegetable gardener, and cook. He has volunteered at the local dog shelter for a number of years. He and his wife live in Peters Township.

Liz Kennon is a licensed life and health insurance broker, specializing in individual and small groupcoverage. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Allegheny College, she spent years in Corporate Finance before realizing that her perfect career was with the family business with Kennon Insurance Consultants. In the last three years, she has been named Director of New Business, IT Specialist and Expert in All Things Social Media.  Titles come easily in a two-person firm!

In addition to her professional pursuits, Liz is an active member in her Shadyside community. She is a member of the East Pittsburgh Chaper of Rotary International.   She runs the Pittsburgh Sports League running group and a member of the People Who Run Downtown. She also participates as a pianist in the Tuesday Musical Club.  She appreciates the local cultural scene, especially the City Theatre where she is a member of the Greenroom Committee for Young Professionals who want to introduce their peers to the experience of great live theater in her hometown.
